A Brief History
Church of the Redeemer is a vibrant church serving Union County, North Carolina, since February 2002. In 2001, Dean Faulkner, our Lead Pastor, was called to plant Church of the Redeemer as a daughter church of Christ Covenant in Matthews, NC. We have been meeting at Sun Valley High School in Monroe since we began. Since then, we have grown from our core group of about 60 people to over 250 in attendance each Sunday.
In December 2003, we became a particular church in the Presbyterian Church in America.
At Church of the Redeemer, it has always been our vision to grow God’s kingdom by planting other churches. This vision was realized in September 2007, when our first church plant, Iglesia del Redentor, held it’s first Sunday morning worship service.
We are now in the beginning stages of our plan to acquire our own property and facility. We hope to complete this plan and move to our own facility in three to five years. Visit Property News for more information.
